Our Story
We started RQFashion in 2025 because the store we wanted did not exist: a place that curates independent labels the way a good bookshop curates authors — by taste, not by trend. A single brand can only ever show one point of view. A boutique can hold several, and let them speak to one another.
So we built a house rather than a label. RQFashion opened with a clear brief: gather a small number of independent brands whose work we would actually wear, and give them a shared home with one editing standard. Our founding brand in residence, RUIJIN, carried that philosophy into its first collection and remains the anchor of the boutique today.
We are not interested in volume for its own sake. A narrower roster, edited harder, means every brand earns its place — and every customer can trust that whatever they find here, it was chosen with care.
From the beginning we made two decisions that still define the boutique. First, we curate for permanence: cuts that flatter without relying on a passing silhouette, and palettes that pair with almost everything already in a wardrobe. Second, we are transparent about making — we name our fibers, we explain our fit, and we publish our care guidance so a garment lasts as long as it should.
Being founded in 2025 also means we were born native to online retail. RUIJIN is the founding brand in residence at RQFashion and the heart of the boutique. It exists for the woman who dresses with quiet authority — the one who understands that a perfectly cut knit can say more than a logo ever could. The aesthetic is rooted in the Old Money tradition: understated, refined, and unmistakably considered.
The RUIJIN palette is drawn from the Maillard spectrum — camel, oat, stone, warm taupe, and soft ecru — chosen because these tones sit quietly against the skin and pair endlessly with one another. Nothing here is designed to shout. Everything is designed to be worn, again and again, season after season.
Each RUIJIN piece begins with fabric and fit. We develop our knits for structure without stiffness, our woven separates for drape without fuss, and our dresses for movement. The result is a wardrobe that feels intentional rather than assembled.
We are deliberate about what RUIJIN is not. It is not seasonal costume. It is not logo-led. It does not chase the silhouette of the month. Instead, every release is measured against a simple test: would someone we admire still reach for this in three years?

Our process is slow by choice. A new brand typically moves through several rounds of review — from first lookbook to fit checks on real bodies, across multiple sizes — before it joins the roster. We would rather add one brand a season and mean it than stock dozens and hope for the best.
We work directly with makers who share our standard for finish, and we visit production wherever possible.
